I got this mail today and just had to share it with you, now I am no sadist, but this I do love, this is what I call justice!
Bum rap
4 September 2008
This alleged thief had to be rushed to hospital last night after being impaled on a fence.
The incident took place at the East London museum.
The suspect is alleged to have broken down the back door to the museum. The alarm went off, giving him a fright, and he ran away.
He climbed a tree and then attempted to jump over the fence. However, he lost his footing and was impaled by one of the spikes on the fence.
The man was discovered by a tow truck driver who heard his cries.
The man was taken to Frere Hospital and it is understood that he is due to undergo surgery.

You can save a life too!
Now this is no crime, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway. It might save a life or two.
Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue
I will continue to forward this every time it comes around!
STROKE: Remember the 1st Three Letters.... S.T.R.
My nurse friend sent this and encouraged me to post it and spread the word.
I agree.
If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.
Seriously..
Please read:
STROKE IDENTIFICATION:
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) .she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.
They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening
Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.
It only takes a minute to read this...
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read
and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue
NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other , that is also an indication of a stroke.
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to
10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

Be aware!!
I got this mail today and I thought it wise to share it with whoever deems it necessary to read it. It may save your life or the life of your loved one. The point I want to make is, always be aware of what is going on around you!! According to stats house robbers kill 30% of their victims. So the motive is not robbery anymore, it is murder!!
This is a generic E mail so I apologise to some of you that might have heard a lot of the gory details already.
Just to inform you about an unfortunate incident that we have experienced.
On Thursday morning +- 12H30 Kathy could not sleep and so she got up and went to work on the computer in the office-many of you will know the setup-She was out there for about 1 and a half hours and on coming back inside saw somebody in the house. She thought it was me and carried on. When she went in the front door she surprised an intruder standing inside. He took fright and shot her in the stomach and then ran out of the door. As he ran over her he shot her again in the hand and in the leg.I was fast asleep in bed and did not hear the shots but was woken to her screaming. I immediately ran out to find her lying across the front door entrance and she told me what had happened.
I then pressed the panic button and called the police who were on the scene within 5 minutes. They then radioed for an ambulance which also arrived very promptly. They stabilised her and rushed her to hospital and I stayed behind and did what I had to do with the police. I discovered that the robber had taken my laptop which was lying next to the piano where I always dump my stuff when I come home from school.
The Police then started following the tracks and later returned to tell me that they had lost the spoor after about 4 kms. They did however recover Kathy's handbag which he had chucked into a neighbours garden.
Kathy was being stabilised in the local hospital. She was then operated on her stomach so that the surgeon could investigate the internal damage and came out of theatre and into ICU about an houir later. The doctor informed me that it had been touch and go because her blood pressure had dropped dangerously low.- she had lost a lot of blood internally- Whilst she was in theatre they removed about 300mm of her small intestine.
She was readmitted to theatre at about 17H00 Thursday so that the orthopaedic surgeon could work on her hand- the bullet had entered through the back of her hand and come out on the palm side. Her blood pressure was still very worrying but the doctor explained that they had to take the chance because of the risk of infection. Anyway she came through that operation well. The surgeon later told me that she had been very lucky as the bullet had passed fairly neatly between the metatarsal of her index and middle finger.( I hope I am getting the physiology right).
On Thursday night her leg wound bled profusely and caused further complications especially due to the fact that her BP was so worrying.
She is now recovering well and should move out of ICU today-Saturday- although she is not allowed to eat anything due to risk of infection because of all the leakages in her stomach.
The police were fantastic on the night.Within 5 minutes there must have been 10 police cars on the scene. We have been experiencing a spate of robberies in our area recently. A woman 5 houses down was raped by an intruder a few weeks back and some man shot dead in his house just around the corner. so they are really on their toes at the moment. We have what they call sector policing where we all have a cell no. of a policeman in our suburb which I have on speed dial. They spent hours searching for finger prints and their were all sorts of high ranking officers in and out and a call to the Director of Security at 04H00.
I phoned the girls at about 06H00 that morning to inform them of what had happened to their mother and the Proctor family in the Eastern Cape were fantastic about organising to get them collected from Grahamstown and put on a flight to Joburg where Mike Burns collected them and brought them up to Polokwane.
The support we have received from everybody has been overwhelming with hundreds of calls and messages.People have been bringing meals and phoning constantly to check up on us.Kathy's school had a special assembly on Friday morning to pray for her and the pupils all made get well cards.
In the meantime we have no option but to build the walls higher. We can no longer feel safe in our own home and have to be constantly aware that there might be someone lurking out there with a 9mm pistol in his hand ready to shoot at the drop of a hat. One of the things Kathy has repeated often since the incident is that she cannot believe that the guy could so easily just fire 3 shots into her when all he really needed to do was push her out the way and flee.

Filthy trolleys
This has nothing really to do with crime, but I think it is good to read!
________________________________________
Shopping Trolleys are dirtier than public toilets - fact!
Most off the major chain Stores (Hyper Checkers, Pick n' Pay, Woolies and Spar) Now have Trolley wet wipes to disinfect your trolley at the door before Putting your kids and food in.
Thousands of different shoppers touch the same trolley each day.
Investigations on 120 items found in public areas, commonly touched by hands, were examined for bacteria and viruses, shopping trolleys were the worst of the worst! More so than escalator conveyors, public toilets, lift buttons, train and bus straps!!!!
o Although most people are aware of the importance of hand washing less than 45% of people bother to wash them - (this is an international statistic!)
o The high bacteria count found on the average clean looking trolley is enough to make you sick, a survey carried out in the United States revealed that the average shopping trolley contains 1000 times the bacteria count that a human would otherwise encounter in a normal day. - baby seats have even worse statistics!
o In Australia a 2 year old child spent several weeks in hospital in an intensive care unit with her life hanging in the balance, after extensive investigation, health department inspectors traced the source (of infection) to a supermarket shopping trolley, the child rode in the cart sucking her thumb while her mother shopped, the bacteria on the handle wound up in her mouth!
o Even if a shopping trolley looks clean it may be laden with germs that can sicken you or your child!
o But what are the chances??? - Dr Reynolds a microbiologist at the University of Arizona doing research to determine why certain bacteria find their way into people's homes, made a startling discovery: one in five shopping trolleys tested positive for bodily fluids - blood, saliva or urine - that could transmit germs.
In Oklahoma city a concerned Eyewitness news presenter - Kevin Sims and his crew were horrified at the outcome of the shopping trolley bacteria investigation that they carried out, however they found a solution to the high bacteria counts...
When the stores bought in anti-bacterial wipes to use on the trolleys the bacteria count quickly disappeared. - According to Sideman's lab tests, a simple, in- expensive cleaning wipe took a bacteria count in the thousands to almost zero - in a matter of seconds!
Most Pick n Pay stores and Spar stores in South Africa now provide FREE Sani-touch surface wipes for use on trolley handles, and hand wipes in store for your convenience!
USE THEM THEY ARE FREE!
For the protection of you and your family.
Please pass this mail on to all hygiene conscious South Africans ...... You have a right to hygiene!

Just got this e mail and thougth I'd share it with you.

ROADSIDE ARREST ON OUTSTANDING FINES
The LAW SOCIETY OF SA has currently appointed a group of attorneys to deal
with this flagrant transgression of the law; for further info on which attorney are
taking on cases like these, please call Hester Bezuidenhout 012 338 5872 who
will assist.
Know your rights
The traffic/metro police are doing random roadblock checks. They will also feed
your registration into a computer that will show up if you have any outstanding
fines. Know your rights.
If you get stopped for outstanding traffic fines - really important for all drivers:
Make sure that everybody gets this message.
The Jhb Metro Police, Cape Town Metro Police and other traffic cops have
recently developed the nasty habit of locking people up for unpaid fines. These
road blocks are typically only happening in and around more affluent areas where
their "hit rate" will be higher on traceable entities, with more "fixed" abodes when,
as we all know, primary daily offenders in their mini busses literally get away with
murder because the cops are too scared to root them out of the townships, or the
justice system has no means of putting them over a barrel like the majority of
"soft" citizens.
They can only arrest you if:
1. They have the original warrant for your arrest there with them. A copy
isn't good enough, saying it's at the station isn't good enough either. They
have to show it to you there and then (if they have it, check plan "b").
2. They have to prove that you received the summons in person. It either
had to be delivered to you in person or you had to collect a registered letter
from the post office (if they cannot prove you personally received the
relevant summons, the warrant of arrest is not legal either).
3. If you do get stopped and they want to arrest you, demand to see the
warrant and proof you received the summons (i.e. your own signature on
the document when delivered to you).
4. If they don't have it, the arrest is illegal. Refuse to go. If they still arrest
you inform them there and then you will press charges against them
for illegal arrest (record everything that is said to you, as well as the
chronological procedure of events in detail). These details may well stand
you in good stead for a strong case.
5. Technically, if your arrest is illegal, the taking possession of your car by
the police and its driving thereof while you are in custody may also
constitute theft.
6. When you are released, go to the SAPS immediately and lay a charge
against the arresting law body and relevant official.

Watch your children
Hi
I would appreciate it if you could forward this incident, in order to
Warn parents and children of potential dangers in our area.
Last night (Friday 8 Aug), we were out as a family at Woodlands
Boulevard.
Shortly after eight, my daughter and her friend, both age 10, asked if
They could go the music store. We agreed as long as they stuck together. As
Kids do, they decided to take a joyride on the escalator opposite the Mugg &
Bean on the way back. My daughter went down to the bottom of the escalator,
while her friend waited for her at the top.
A white man dressed in a dark suit and red tie came up from behind, as
if he were going to go down to the underground parking. On the CCTV Camera
footage we can see clearly as he suddenly changed direction, and grabs
my daughter's friend from behind. Fortunately she had the presence of mind
to give him a sharp kick in the shin, before he released her and ran down
the "up" escalator. She then shouted to my daughter to "Be Careful!!", and
with that my daughter quickly joined her friend again at the top of the
escalators. Both girls then came running back, shaken, but fortunately
unharmed.
The man was short in stature, had a dark beard and was well dressed. We
have contacted the Child Protection Unit, and were told that this is not
an isolated incident, as a similar event happened in Brooklyn Mall a short
time ago. They will be looking into the footage to see if there could be a
possible link, as they believe it could be connected to syndicates
abducting young girls before the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Not a pleasant thought.
Please WARN your children to literally "stick" together at the malls, as
even a couple of meters between them could allow for a situation like
this to happen.
I hope this information can create awareness and prevent a similar
Incident for other children.
Kind regards,
Sharon

Hijackers use dolls!
Hijackers use dolls!
Hijackers could now be using a new approach of getting to hijack unsuspecting victims.
A possible road accident “victim” was noticed by an unsuspecting motorist, lying in the road in Kempton Park. When he stopped to investigate, it turned out the victim was a lifelike dummy.
Lucky for him a security official stopped also and more than likely saved him from a lot of grieve and possibly death. It is suspected that criminals now use lifelike dolls to get motorists to stop and then hijacked them, the perpetrators hide in the bush next to the road.
All motorists in the area of Kempton Park are warned not to be fooled by this new modus operandi of hijackers.

Don't trust anyone!!
Here is another mail I thought every one should pay attention to, if you value your life that is.
"BOUT A MONTH AGO THERE WAS A WOMAN STANDING BY THE MALL ENTRANCE PASSING OUT FLYERS TO ALL THE WOMEN GOING IN. THE WOMAN HAD WRITTEN THE FLYER HERSELF TO TELL ABOUT AN EXPERIENCE SHE HAD, SO THAT SHE MIGHT WARN OTHER WOMEN.
THE PREVIOUS DAY, THIS WOMAN HAD FINISHED SHOPPING, WENT OUT TO HER CAR AND DISCOVERED THAT SHE HAD A FLAT TYRE. SHE GOT THE JACK OUT OF THE TRUNK AND BEGAN TO CHANGE THE FLAT TIRE.
A NICE MAN DRESSED IN BUSINESS SUIT AND CARRYING A BRIEFCASE WALKED UP TO
HER AND SAID, "I NOTICE YOU'RE CHANGING A FLAT TYRE. WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO TAKE CARE OF IT FOR YOU?"
THE WOMAN WAS GRATEFUL FOR HIS OFFER AND ACCEPTED HIS HELP. THEY CHATTED AMIABLY WHILE THE MAN CHANGED THE FLAT TYRE, AND THEN PUT IT AND THE JACK IN THE TRUNK, SHUT IT AND DUSTED HIS HANDS OFF.
THE WOMAN THANKED HIM PROFUSELY, AND AS SHE WAS ABOUT TO GET IN HER CAR, THE MAN TOLD HER THAT HE LEFT HIS CAR AROUND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MALL, AND ASKED IF SHE WOULD MIND GIVING HIM A LIFT TO HIS CAR.
SHE WAS A LITTLE SURPRISED AND ASKED HIM WHY HIS CAR WAS ON OTHER SIDE. HE EXPLAINED THAT HE HAD SEEN AN OLD FRIEND IN THE MALL THAT HE HADN'T SEEN FOR SOME TIME AND THEY HAD A BITE TO EAT AND VISITED FOR A WHILE; HE GOT TURNED AROUND IN THE MALL AND LEFT THROUGH THE WRONG EXIT, AND NOW HE WAS RUNNING LATE AND HIS CAR WAS CLEAR AROUND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MALL.
THE WOMAN HATED TO TELL HIM "NO" BECAUSE HE HAD JUST RESCUED HER FROM HAVING TO CHANGE HER FLAT TYRE ALL BY HERSELF, BUT SHE FELT UNEASY.
THEN SHE REMEMBERED SEEING THE MAN PUT HIS BRIEFCASE IN HER TRUNK BEFORE SHUTTING IT AND BEFORE HE ASKED HER FOR A RIDE TO HIS CAR.
SHE TOLD HIM THAT SHE'D BE HAPPY TO DRIVE HIM TO HIS CAR, BUT SHE JUST REMEMBERED ONE LAST THING SHE NEEDED TO BUY. SHE SAID SHE WOULD ONLY BE A FEW MINUTES; HE COULD SIT DOWN IN HER CAR AND WAIT FOR HER; SHE WOULD BE AS QUICK AS SHE COULD.
SHE HURRIED INTO THE MALL, AND TOLD A SECURITY GUARD WHAT HAD HAPPENED; THE GUARD CAME OUT TO HER CAR WITH HER, BUT THE MAN HAD LEFT.
THEY OPENED THE TRUNK, TOOK OUT HIS LOCKED BRIEFCASE AND TOOK IT DOWN TO THE POLICE STATION. THE POLICE OPENED IT (OSTENSIBLY TO LOOK FOR ID SO THEY COULD RETURN IT TO THE MAN). WHAT THEY FOUND WAS ROPE, DUCT TAPE, AND KNIVES. WHEN THE POLICE CHECKED HER "FLAT" TIRE, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT; THE AIR HAD SIMPLY BEEN LET OUT.
IT WAS OBVIOUS WHAT THE MAN'S MOTIVE WAS, AND OBVIOUS THAT HE HAD CAREFULLY THOUGHT IT OUT IN ADVANCE. THE WOMAN WAS BLESSED TO HAVE ESCAPED HARM.
I'D LIKE YOU TO FORWARD THIS TO ALL THE WOMEN YOU KNOW. IT MAY SAVE A LIFE.
I WAS GOING TO SEND THIS TO THE LADIES ONLY; BUT GUYS, IF YOU LOVE YOUR MOTHERS, WIVES, SISTERS, DAUGHTERS, ETC., YOU MAY WANT TO PASS IT ON TO THEM, AS WELL. SEND THIS TO ANY WOMAN YOU KNOW THAT MAY NEED TO BE REMINDED THAT THE WORLD WE LIVE IN HAS A LOT OF CRAZIES IN IT....BETTER BE SAFE THAN
SORRY.
PLEASE BE SAFE AND NOT SORRY!!!!
JUST A WARNING TO ALWAYS BE ALERT!!!!!"
I hope people will learn from this, you are never safe, no where, and dont rely on other to help, cos they are too shit scared to lift a finger...!!

Dear friends..got this mail a day ago, now I copied it as it was sent to me, read and be warned.
"I would like to share a something with all of you..so that you are more aware of your domestic workers.
Last Friday, (25.07.08) my maid forgot her cell phone at my house. I decided to have a look at the phone...
I found that she has video clips of all the houses that she works at incl. mine. She filmed everything. From room to room, making specific notice to appliances, the TV's, dvd's, sound systems etc.
I was very shocked and surprised to see this. I then went thru the rest of her phone...and found sms confirmations of huge sums of monies being deposited into her account twice in this month.(more than double my salary). What is a domestic worker doing with that amount of money? Cos' the money I pay her is peanuts compared to that.
Our first thoughts were that she probably gets paid for assisting burglars. It is purely murphy's law that she forgot her phone, because my place was filmed on Friday the 25 of July, while I was at work. So, I don't know what she has been planning and for when, but I am so glad that we found this now.
She also took pictures of our pictures that we have on the fridge and in frames on the walls etc. as well as the intercom behind the door. This I find very strange and suspicious.
She phoned me frantically later that night to tell me to switch her phone off. I have not asked her anything yet.
I have infact sent the video clips to my phone for proof if we may need it. But I have since changed the locks on my doors and I have asked her to come to my place on Saturday instead
of during the week. We plan on confronting her first and then dismissing her.
*Another thing I would like to mention is that normally when I talk to her, she has this thing that she can not talk english very well...but on the video clip her english is very good and even her tone of voice is different.
So be careful guys..and take care."

How do they justify it?
HOW DO THEY JUSTIFY IT?
WRITTEN BY COLIN IMMELMAN
Since our ancestors set foot on Southern African soil,
They immediately started to sweat and toil.
Building, improving, farming, inventing and exploring.
All of this in spite of the droughts, the floods, the killing and the maiming.
They brought with them cuttings and slips to plant, seeds, in fertile soil to sow,
Knowledge to built wagons, schools, houses, factories and road.
With blood and sweat they paid for a land so fair,
Which they thought they’d better for their heir.
Now you look around you, you’ll see skyscrapers, airports, and highways,
Airplanes, television sets, cell phones, computers an’ rails.
Don’t you see, we have improved a barren, undeveloped piece of land,
Where there was no wheel, infra structure, technical invention or plan,
Developed it to a country that can provide for itself, proud and stout,
Only, now there seems to be a meaningless bout.
Train coaches are burned out of anger, or is it of pure vandalism, a token?
Busses are stoned and school windows are broken,
Tyres are burned in streets to vent their mood,
By those who, I am sure, don’t pay tax, but live and enjoy to loot.
Keep in mind my vandalizing, destroying, abusive friend,
In the end, those of us who work for an income, pay for your selfish trend.
What I don’t understand,
Is, what do you get out of it in the end?
Violence and vandalism has never solved a problem,
Only brings about poverty and mayhem.
So take it from me, eventually your children will draw the short end of the stick too,
When there is nothing to feed them, the farmers who now supplies the food,
At last, all dead and buried, the country barren and dry once more, no wheels that turn,
No busses to stone, no windows to break and no train coaches to burn.
Then I am sure you’d realize, but too late,
How selfish and wrong you’d been, hell, what a sorry state!

when and how to use your firearm.
Send me One Million FREE Guaranteed Visitors
WHEN AND HOW TO USE YOUR FIREARM.
I am going to write this in easy, simple English seeing that the law is, even for those who use it on a regular basis, extremely difficult to understand.
When you are the licensed owner of a firearm, and let’s use the example of a firearm for self defense, like a pistol or revolver. You are allowed to carry said firearm on your person, provided that said firearm is: in a holster designed to carry the firearm, a bag (moon-bag) or rucksack. This item must be attached to your body, and you must still be in complete control of the firearm. The firearm must be concealed completely at all times.
In the case of a rifle, the same applies, it must be in a bag designed for it, and you must also be in complete control of it.
When your firearm is not on your person, or under your direct control, it must be kept in a prescribed safe, of which you are the exclusive key holder.
When can someone else be in possession of your firearm? Only for storage purposes may someone else be in possession of your firearm, and then said person must be the holder of a legal license to possess a firearm, not necessarily your firearm. He must then also be in possession of a prescribed letter from you, endorsed by an appointed Firearm Official, bearing consent, dates, names and firearm particulars.
However, if for instance Bill wants to teach Sue how to shoot, she may be in possession of his firearm on the shooting range where he is busy teaching her, provided that he is present and also still in control of the firearm.
Now if for instance Bill is married to Sue and they live under the same roof, then Sue can apply for a license for Bill’s firearm, in other words, they can have a shared firearm license, a license for the same firearm at the same time, which now allows her to handle and use the firearm legally, even when Bill is not present.
Your next question is, “when am I allowed to use my firearm? When am I allowed to shoot a person?”
No matter what people tell you, and this is extremely important, no man has the right to take the life of another, now even more than in the past. Not even a Supreme Court Judge can condemn a human to death anymore. Needless to say, neither can you! So that narrows the field down considerably. You are allowed to use your firearm against another human only, and I stress, only when your life, or the life of another person is in danger. But I am talking here, real danger. A man is standing in front of you, he is armed with, say for instance a knife or firearm, he threatens to kill you, attacks you, or another person, only then are you allowed to shoot at him. Now under those circumstances you are going to be nervous as hell, under enormous stress, scared out of your wits, and kind of pressed for time, so there is no way I can tell you where or how to shoot him, circumstances will predict that. Fact remains, you have the right to defend your life, or the life of another human being, so do it.
Now shooting someone in the back and then claiming that your life was in danger, is going to make your story somewhat difficult to believe. So don’t take chances! If your assailant is twenty meters from you, and he is only armed with a bread knife, can you claim self defense? I cer- tainly don’t think so, neither should you! If he is however armed with a firearm, pointing it at you, or ultimately taking a shot at you or someone else, then you may use your firearm.
To summarize, you may use your firearm to shoot at someone only, and only when your life or the life of another human being is in direct danger. Now keep in mind, it is one thing to imagine shooting someone, or bragging that you will shoot someone if this or that happens, it is however another thing altogether having the death of another human being on your conscience. So I would suggest you give that some careful thought.
If you are uncertain about any of this, you may refer to the Firearm control Act 60 of 2000, if you are able to understand it, that is, or speak to your local, appointed Firearm Official. (Normally the police official at your nearest police station, dealing with firearm licenses.)
One more quick note just for interest sake, according to the act, you are not allowed more than 200 rounds of live ammunition in your possession and if you reload your own cartridges, you are not allowed more than 2400 primers in your possession. (This does not include dedicated hunters or sportsmen.)
I trust that this has been of a little help to you.
Good luck.

Where are your kids?
WHERE IS YOUR KID RIGHT NOW?
Where are the days when kids were well disciplined? Well mannered? Why is the standard at schools so low these days? Why do so many schoolgirls fall pregnant? Why do you see young girls, and I am talking younger than fifteen, hanging around shopping centers with men five years or more older than said girl? Why do so many kids commit suicide? Why are there so many drug related cases?
The other day I had a conversation with a teacher of a well known school in Port Elizabeth. She was depressed, down in the dumps. Her words were, “I cannot handle it anymore Colin, I don’t know what to do anymore.” Her ring got stolen in her classroom, right from under her nose. Even though she is convinced she knows who stole it, because the girl stole from her before, she cannot proof it.
Some of the kids in her class, she says, sometimes get a big fat zero for tests, some refuse to hand in projects, and that after she gave them more than a month extra to complete. She practically begged them to hand the project in, even gave them time in class to complete, just so she can give them at least some marks. They still refused, so they got zero!
She further stated that when she teaches, she basically talks to herself, kids are doing their own thing, talking, joking, making animal noises, etc, etc. The kids that really are interested in improving themselves, have to battle to concentrate on order to learn something. The worst of it, teachers are not allowed to punish anymore, hell they are not even allowed to fail kids anymore! If a kid fails, it is the teacher who is at fault. Not the kid, nor the parent, no the teacher, the teacher who has to help out when kids don’t have anything to eat during the day, or who has to help out when a kid takes an overdose, who has to help when your little girl falls pregnant…..and they do, believe me, on a regular basis.
Now my question is this: what seems to be the main reason for this? Allow me to answer, because I bet you’d hate to answer it, or you’d lie. The problem lies with YOU! The parent. Discipline starts at home, and in these cases discipline is seriously lacking. I hear kids talk to their parents like they are talking to a dog, to be honest I wouldn’t even talk to my dog that way. Have we come to the age where the tail is wagging the dog? Parents want to be in the good books of their children? Kids demand, tell, want and need, regardless….. parents bend over backwards to provide, please and serve, regardless. Now my question again is, why? Where are you as parent going wrong?
How many parents know where their kids are when it gets dark? I see kids walking around in shopping centers, young girls, still wet behind the ears, not even sixteen yet, with young men, in my opinion sexually active already. Why? Did you know that it is a crime for a man to have sexual intercourse with a girl under sixteen? If you know, do you care? Your little girl that you should love, who should love you…..the one you used to breastfeed, the one you used to care for so much, the very one that used to slip into your bed at night when she was little, that used to sit on your lap, telling you how much she loves you. The very one you told stories too. Well mommy/ pappy dearest, she is being violated, even if she doesn’t object right then, the crime is rape, because she cannot give consent, statutory rape! And you know what? You allow it, you allow it by not objecting for her!! By not raising and disciplining her as you should!
Did you know that there is a certain code with kids that go out at night? A colour code, certain colours mean certain things. Now I don’t know what colour means exactly what, but lets say for instance, a girl is open for sexual activity, then she’ll wear a purple top, or if the boy is into drugs, he will wear a yellow top. This way they know just what to expect from certain kids, it is a standing rule with most of the kids, at most of the shopping centres.
Do you really love your child? If you do, why do you allow this to happen? When you had your child Christened, didn’t you take an oath before God that you would teach him or her to walk the straight and the narrow? To bring them up according to what the Bible teaches us? So where did you go wrong? And wrong you did go, for it is your duty as a parent to see that your kids are brought up properly, or you’d have to answer for that wrong doing one day. And answer you will!!
What kind of parent are you? A spineless jellyfish? Are you going to stand by and watch some half-brained bastard harm or violate your kid? Your lame answer? “Yes, but it is against the law to punish my kid.” Listen, if you really care about your kid, and you don’t want to see your kid end up in jail or ultimately in hell, then you will not let other’s standards interfere with yours, nor allow yours to be lowered. My motto is, where there is a law, I obey the law, however, where that law contradicts the Bible, I just naturally obey the Bible. The Bible being the Higher authority in my book!
Has it ever occurred to you that someone would force you to lower your standards just so they would not look so bad? Just a thought....

hijackings

According to Highveld News, Urban legends expert says alarmist warnings and hoax emails can quickly stir panic, even if there's no proof to substantiate them.
A recurring hoax email, which warns motorists to be on the lookout for hijackers who spray pool acid on their victims, is again doing the rounds.
The story goes that the email was initially sent by a Discovery Health employee who fell victim to the crime.
But the company's Marius Smit says the story is a hoax.
Highveld also reports that police in Erasmia, west of Pretoria are hunting for a gang of armed robbers after a spate of hijackings in the area.
At least three vehicles have been pulled over and taken at gunpoint in the last few days.
Police say the modus operandi in at least three of the hijackings in the Erasmia area this week was virtually identical.
It's understood a car would drive past the intended target and indicate to the driver that there was something wrong with one of its wheels. Another vehicle would then pass and also indicate to the driver to pull over and check his tyres.
A friend of mine wrote a story of what happened to her father-in-law yesterday 75-year old man out-wits would-be hijackers

TIPS ON A FEW CRIMES IN SOUTH AFRICA

OnLoad="FreeViral(212186)"
Even though our government will never admit it, it is common knowledge that crime is escalating in our rainbow country at the same rate that the Zim dollar is falling, no wonder there is a moratorium on giving crime stats. But that is not what I am here to write about, what with corruption in the government and high ranking officials, even the Police Commissioner under suspicion, leaders that you’d expect to be an example, what can you expect from the followers.
Anyway, my object is to give you, as a law abiding citizen, a few tips on some of the crimes, especially the ones where you may get yourself killed. Keep in mind that nothing is fool proof, life has no guarantees, and neither have my tips, but seeing as they are free, it will cost you nothing but a few moments to take a look at them, so try and implement them. Hey if you don’t, well it is no skin off my back and it might just be your funeral, or your loved one’s.
Let’s take a quick look at one of our biggest dangers – HIJACKING:
Face it my friend, when you are in your car you are a sitting duck, you can be shot at, you can be forced off the road by other stolen vehicles, you can be assaulted at traffic lights, options are endless and if you’re not careful, your ass, my friend, is toast before you know it.
Now I want you to keep this in mind, and mind is the key word here, it should become a mindset, always be aware of what is going on around you, your vehicle should have three mirrors, and if you adhere to the K53 driving instructions, you should use them every few seconds, not that we pay much attention to the K53 once we have our license, but still. Well here is my opinion, use your head for more than just a place to park a pair of ears and think, concentrate and use those mirrors for what they are there for, look behind you, keep track of the traffic behind you, but not just behind you, also next to you and in front of course, make sure that you know who is driving what vehicle, and make sure you know what they are doing. This should become a mind thing and it shouldn’t take you long to master, make it a way of life, do it every time you get into your car!
Another thing, and it is also a well known law, but I bet you don’t adhere to it, keep your following distance, that way you give yourself enough space to take evasive action when something suspicious happens. Also make sure that when you stop at traffic lights, stop signs or any other place in traffic, that you can see the tyres of the car in front of you where they make contact with the road, and then some. If someone behind you suddenly gets out of a vehicle for whatever reason, and you use your mirrors, you will have enough room to maneuver out of the way and take evasive action. (I would suggest that you keep your car in gear at all times) And if for instance you notice this person approaching wielding a firearm, hey cousin, then you have only a split second to think and to act, get away from there, he isn’t going to ask you for directions, he wants your car, cell phone or more than likely your life!
As I said earlier, in your car you are a sitting duck, but remember, your car can also be an extremely dangerous weapon, if used correctly…. Use it and your imagination, if your life is threatened, you are allowed to use any means at your disposal to defend yourself. Only, keep in mind that your car is not bullet proof and neither are you!
Now I have one especially for the ladies, my girl, when you approach your vehicle after shopping, a late night out, or whatever and where ever, make sure your keys are in your hand and not in that upside down handbag of yours, it might mean the difference between life and death. Again, it must be a mind thing, a way of life, a habit…. Oh and while on the subject, that key of yours, if used correctly, it can be an extremely dangerous weapon, take a look at the photographs shown here.
Holding the key in the position shown in the photographs, you punch for your assailant’s face, throat or neck. But hey, don’t send the guy a sms warning him you’re going to punch him, do it suddenly and with every bit of strength in your body. Remember, you don’t want to just hurt him, you want him out of action for at least enough time to get away safely, if not more.
Now use your imagination, everywhere around you are weapons, take for instance that You magazine you carry around in your bag, take a peek at the photographs below:
Roll it tight, just like in the picture, now don’t use it as a baton, that will be pointless, use it like you would stab with a knife, and go for the throat, I would take you a bet that if you strike a man on his adam’s apple with it as shown in the photograph down here, he would loose all inspiration of attacking you. In fact he might need medical attention. Now again, don’t give him any indication that you are going to hit him, do it quickly and with enough force to put him out of action for a while.
More weapons at your disposal, again use some imagination, most woman wear shoes with dangerous heels, use them for stepping on your assailants feet, shin, or take off the shoe and use the heel in the same way as you were shown with the key or the magazine. I repeat, don’t hesitate, do it with force and don’t feel sorry for your attacker, strike with force and make sure you make him take water, remember, he is not there to court you like a gentleman, he is either going to rape or rob you and ultimately kill or maim you. Take a look at these pictures:
An interesting fact is, your attacker expects someone that is going to put up a fight, or try to get away, now what will happen if you act like you agree with what he wants, go along for a short moment, what will happen, hell he’ll be so damned surprised, he will open up and drop his guard, for a second or two anyway, now that is when you hit him hard and fast.
Now walking to your vehicle, you’d look the complete fool if you keep on looking over your shoulder all the time, so again, brains and imagination – use the vehicles in the parking lot as mirrors to see if there are people following you. Especially the widows of 4x4’s or combi’s. They serve as the perfect pair of eyes in the back of your head, which is what you need these days in the wonderful, new South Africa, where every second person is proudly South African! (How anyone can be proud of people who rape or kill babies and old ladies I have no idea….) Now when you notice suspicious looking person/s behind you, pretend to be looking for your car, casually change direction, if you are still followed, hey you suddenly remember that you forgot something in Woolies, act like it, turn right around, and head back as casual as possible, but keep your car keys ready!
Now I know you might not agree with me on this, but that beggar next to the road at the traffic light, the one you feel sorry for, the very one with the sorry looking face, the one you feel compelled to give a few cents to, beware, he might have his knife in for you, so to speak, or his gun for that matter. Keep your windows closed if at all possible, doors locked and don’t make yourself vulnerable to people you cannot trust. And while on the subject, don’t trust other people, no matter who, with sensitive info, people talk, it is their nature, and that way info leaks out, info that can get you killed!!
The bottom line is this, keep your eyes open, use your imagination, stay open minded and make a habit of being vigilant and awake, it has to become a way of life, not because you want to, but because you have to in order to stay alive and in order to protect your loved ones.
Now before you get bored, I’ll stop, but I can carry on for days, whether you try and implement some of my tips or not, makes not one whit of difference to me, and you may think I am paranoid or over reacting, the choice is yours. I have seen more people that I can remember being carried off to a waiting mortuary vehicle, stiff as a cemetery board, lying in a hard, steel mesh basket, staring sightlessly at the white sheet over their faces, killed for their possessions or what ever other reason, by someone who had no value for life, and who, if ever caught and convicted, will go to jail for a few years, be pardoned because it is the State President’s birthday, and do it again. As I have said, the choice is yours…..
I have more tips, but the field is very wide and it is impossible to mention everything in here, but you are welcome to e – mail me at colin.i7@absamail.co.za for info on your specific problem. Thanks for reading my blog and stay alert.
