Watch your children

Hi

I would appreciate it if you could forward this incident, in order to

Warn parents and children of potential dangers in our area.

Last night (Friday 8 Aug), we were out as a family at Woodlands

Boulevard.

Shortly after eight, my daughter and her friend, both age 10, asked if

They could go the music store. We agreed as long as they stuck together. As

Kids do, they decided to take a joyride on the escalator opposite the Mugg &

Bean on the way back. My daughter went down to the bottom of the escalator,

while her friend waited for her at the top.

A white man dressed in a dark suit and red tie came up from behind, as

if he were going to go down to the underground parking. On the CCTV Camera

footage we can see clearly as he suddenly changed direction, and grabs

my daughter's friend from behind. Fortunately she had the presence of mind

to give him a sharp kick in the shin, before he released her and ran down

the "up" escalator. She then shouted to my daughter to "Be Careful!!", and

with that my daughter quickly joined her friend again at the top of the

escalators. Both girls then came running back, shaken, but fortunately

unharmed.

The man was short in stature, had a dark beard and was well dressed. We

have contacted the Child Protection Unit, and were told that this is not

an isolated incident, as a similar event happened in Brooklyn Mall a short

time ago. They will be looking into the footage to see if there could be a

possible link, as they believe it could be connected to syndicates

abducting young girls before the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Not a pleasant thought.

Please WARN your children to literally "stick" together at the malls, as

even a couple of meters between them could allow for a situation like

this to happen.

I hope this information can create awareness and prevent a similar

Incident for other children.

Kind regards,

Sharon
